New fictional league - expansion question

I am familiar with the game but I have never used expansion. I started a fully fictional league with 24 teams and each having 3 minor league teams AAA, AA and A. Question: When I decide to expand the league by 2 or 4 teams at a time will the game automatically give those expansion teams the 3 minor league teams? Thanks
