Name this team...
I am starting a new league with a team in Winnipeg. Typically names just jump out at me but I am stuck on this one. I like for the names to be traditional yet reflect the city/state/province if possible. I like the Red River Rebels but its not traditional enough.
So, what are your suggestions.

Well, here's some Winnipeg teams from real life history:
Winnipeg Gold Eyes from the northern League (1954-1962) Winnipeg Maroons (also known as Winnipeg Peggers) from various leagues in the early 1900's Winnipeg Whips from the International League (1970-1971) From not so real life: The OOTP CBL has a team called the Winnipeg Warriors.

I enjoyed reading about Winnipeg's traditions with streetcars, an ambiance of community with village, townfolk, atmosphere; the 'recreation' of particpating in all of the regional festivities. Brought to mind a carnival or midway, like the one below. As a result, I suggest the River Park Revelry. Good luck!

Winnipeg Warriors
In honor of the native inhabitants that played an important part in the city's history. River-related names would be good, too. There are four rivers in the city. City is called "The Forks". Winnipeg River Rascals Winnipeg River Cats Last edited by Eugene Church; 07-07-2009 at 12:24 PM. |

I originally named the team the Winnipeg Traders but I will change it at seasons end....or maybe the team has financial troubles and is sold mid season and the new owner changes its name....it is an upstart league in its first season afterall. |

I guess any Canadian team could potentially be called Mounties.
*braces for impact by irate Canadian OOTPers. *
