why oh why
I never had a problem with OOTP 8. However the past two years for this game have really annoyed. Constant crashes in the middle of playing. Right now I'm playing on a completely new hard drive, nothing is on this computer but OOTP. I don't see what could possibly be interfering with the game other than the game itself.
It's the same issues I had with OOTP 9, the game constantly crashes a few games into the season. I believe it happens a lot more often with games I save as templates or save as quick starts. I am sick of starting leagues over 30 times. Any help would be great. |

The templates get corrupted. Make a general template. When you want to start a new game make a few more tweaks and start the game. That should end most file corruption.

The game crashes regardless of weather or not I do a template or quickstart. I do a regular fictional league with a standard setup and it crashes the first week of the regular season every time.
This never happened in OOTP 9 until I patched the game. I bought OOTP 10 last month, spent 40 dollars the game worked great. my hard drive crashed i had no receipt and lost the email that had my order ID so I shelled out another 40 to get this game. I immediately patched it and the game constantly crashes just as it did in 9 after I patched it. It sucks that I just pissed away 80 dollars for a game that I cant enjoy. |

Delete and reinstall the game; especially the large file in Documents. That clears up many of the crashing problems.

The only crashes I have EVER experienced with OOTPX were self-inflicted. In my haste to customize, I sometimes forget to make sure I have everything set where it makes sense....

Thats not the issue. If you have an unexpected comp freeze or crash in certain OOTPX screens..like the pre game and in game lineup screen..it corrupts the game and makes it crash. We must completely uninstall and reinstall and we lose our universe.

I didn't know there was a template issue. Is creating games from templates a bad idea? |
