Double Plays

I have had this problems in the past - I may have even posted about it but I feel there are to many times where I hit a double play ball and the runner beats out the throw to 1st. I'm not talking only speedsters either. I felt this way but had to post when I just had Travis Hafner beat out two in one game

The number of DPs that occur in OOTP are about right in OOTP10. There were too few of them in OOTP9, but in both cases the number of GIDPs was about right, because the League Total Modifiers controlled for that. However, I believe that fielders make more throws in OOTP than they do IRL. That is, more throws are made to 1st after the out at 2nd than would occur IRL. Also OFs make more throws to 3rd and Home than IRL. That's just my impression, not the result of collecting stats. In any event, batters are not beating out DPs more often in OOTP than IRL, it's just that the INFs are making too many throws to first after getting the out at 2nd. Simple as that.

Got it - SO in short it's just a PbP "redundancy"??

I know when I play out games, I get sick of all the "great slides" that break up double plays. When great things happen too often they stop being great.
