OK Experts, some help ...
I posed a question the other night & got a couple responses, but didn't understand what they were trying to tell me ...
Here's what I would like to know: Is there a way to adjust the rosters for all current (2009) major league teams in regards to trades, roster moves, etc. made so far this season and save that configuration so it is what comes up whenever I start a new game? It was suggested I do this in a game and save it as a quickstart ... however, as far as I can tell, using a quickstart that way I would always have to be in charge of the same team ... I would like it so that I could choose to run any team and have the saved, revised rosters available ... gotta think there is a way to do this & I'm just not smart enough to figure it out ... I have never been able to open the manual, so I don't know if this is addressed there or not ... Anyway, if anyone knows how this can be done and can walk me through the steps, I'd appreciate it ... Thanks in advance |

But the line above trouble me a bit. What do you mean by never been able to open it? Do you mean it fails to open in-game from the Help menu? There is also a link to the manual, with or without the game, in the manual thread. There haven't been any reports of difficulties being able to read the manual, so let me know if you're having one and under what circumstances.

Should be in the first post in the Manual sticky, a few threads above yours:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...al-thread.html Here's the link that's in that post to the manual itself: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/documentation/ootp10/

OK ... I think that helped me figure out one of the suggestions I got last night ...
I did a brief test with one team's roster and saved as quickstart ... looks like you can load that, then use select/add human managers to change to the team you want to start the new game ... Seemed to work with this test ... I will probably try it in full when I get the time to do all the roster changes ... if it works, I'll post the results so others know about it ... Of course, maybe most experienced players with any smarts already know?

I think you can save a quickstart in commish mode too, not absolutely sure, and just select your team when you're ready from the list of available jobs.

Now I'm stuck again ...
I only tested with one team ... now when I go to revise the entire league, I can only seem to initiate trades using the team I started the game as ... Example: Managing Arizona, I can only initiate trades between Arizona and the other teams. I can't find a way to trade between, say, Atlanta and Baltimore. I tried to re-set the league to controlling all teams in the league, but even then, when I go to "initiate trade", it will only give me Arizona on the left side? So, now I'm not sure how to revise everyone's roster, even though I think I have the answer to the second part of the problem. Anyone know if I'm missing something here? |
