After twelve years it replaced all my player portraits

After a few false starts due to OOTP crashes I finally got my fictional world league running. I've just started my twelfth season and have been greatly enjoying running my team. Today a couple of days into the new season the game decided to replace every single player picture.

It might sound silly but I'm ready to just delete the entire league and stop playing altogether. My favorite aspect of OOTP is fictional simulation and the facegen portraits were the final piece to make these players seem kind of real, especially the way they change over time due to the player morale. To have an entire league's images wiped away like that is demoralizing for me.

I can't imagine backing up the game after every single day of games played just to try and avoid this insidious bug. It truly annoys me that after working so hard to get my team to the top of my league the players I did it with have essentially disappeared.

So months after the portrait change debacle I got itchy and reinstalled OOTP. I started my fictional league with fictional players in 1985. I was dead last the first few seasons but crawled to the top through good draft picks and trades, and have now taken the World Series four years in a row.

Then my twelfth season begins and once again OOTP replaces every single portrait.

I don't know how I could be the only one that has been hit with this extremely annoying bug.

Have you reported this to Tech Support? Maybe they need to give this a bug number to bring it to Markus's attention.
