My pitcher just threw a no-hitter for the first time ever while I was playing out a game...
I've had a few 1 and 2 hitters, but never a no-no... I was really nervous when I got to the 9th inning because he was listed as being tired, and then one of my outfielders made an error to put someone on base, but he came through and got a grounder and then a little squibber in front of the plate for the final out... Luckily he had already walked someone in like the 3rd inning so the error didn't ruin a perfect game attempt... Last edited by Matter2003; 08-30-2009 at 01:06 PM. |

Did you play pitch by pitch or one-pitch?

Only exception is if there is a speedster on base, I will sometimes hold runner or pitch out and also if I sac bunt, steal or hit and run... |

I've had a no-hitter pitched against me (and the same pitcher pitched a 1-hitter against me in his next start the next week) I was glad I didnt face him the rest of the season.
Note: It might have been the 1-hitter then the no-hitter, I forget, it was several OOTPs ago. ANd both starts were fairly painful.

Same pitcher(Josh Johnson of the Marlins) has another no-hitter going thru 7 innings of his next start...
EDIT: DAMN!! Bloop single broke up his second consecutive no-no bid after 7 and 2/3 innings... EDIT 2: Finished up with a complete game 1 hitter, striking out 14...no hitter, followed by a 1-hitter in his next start...unbelievable... Last edited by Matter2003; 08-30-2009 at 08:29 PM. |

Cool,,
In my 'main' league I am into season 8, I have had great teams winning 3 champtionships but never having any of my pitchers throwing a no hitter. In the 7 Cy Youngs handed out my pitchers have won 5, and I have had at least 2 x 20 game winners each year.. but NO NO HITTERS!!!

I had one in OOTP8. But not so far in OOTPX. I did have a guy make it to 1 out in the 9th recently. He's actually my starter with the least stamina and was tired. Back to back solo homers Exhausted him and ended the no-hit bid.

I actually sim all of my team's games, but so far in any of my leagues, nobody's been lucky enough to throw a no-no for the Braves in any of their incarnations.

Congratulations mate---that's something I've not done yet (that I can remember) in years of play (at least, in played-out games...I think I've done it in simmed period before).
Coincidentally, I just about threw one myself tonight...John Davis (of my fictional Vancouver team) gave up a 1-out double in the 7th, which became the only baserunner my oppenent got during the game. Davis, a 9-8 pitcher this season with a 4+ ERA, threw only 99 pitches (66 strikes) enroute to a 1 hit, 0 walk, 10 K game against the league leaders. I'd determined at the start of the game not to let him get much above 80 pitches, as he was on short rest due to injury of another SP --- but he was throwing so well, that despite having only a 1-0 lead, I kept him in to finish the game. He didn't disappoint, inducing an infield popup, a strikeout looking, and a short outfield flyout to end what will undoubtedly be the game of his career. One hit short of a perfect game.....one of these days I'll get it

I have been playing out my games since I think the first version. I have never had a no hitter. I am playing my second season in my fictional world. I had a starter go down and I made a trade to a Japanese team for a starter. He pitch a no hitter in his second start. Then he went 6-0 in his first 7 starts. Now in September he is only 8-8.
