Question regarding number of minor league teams and player development

In a league where there are 3 levels of minors, your prospects are in Single A when they're ratings are low. You run the risk of ruining the player if you promote them to quickly.

So, what happens with player development when you have only 1 level of minors? Does the game adjust player development because of that?

I plan to test this out in game, but I wanted to see if anyone knew anything about it.

This is something I was wondering about as well. I am playing the new 2009 MLB game, but I only want 2 levels of minors. I've edited the draft to comply with that, but will my players develop accordingly or will I need to adjust the player development mods(and if so, to what number)?

Same here on this. I have been thinking about a 120-team college league, but I only want two minor league levels and wondered how best to do this. I was thinking of making them a AAA league and an A league.

Sorry to add another question instead of answer. Hopefully someone has answers.
