Italian Baseball League

I was inspired by Captain Walrus, when he made the IBL logos. I wanted a IBL in my baseball world. I've played around with it, by starting a fictional league and creating a customized schedule for the IBL (which is 42 games and plays games just on weekends)

I've been through about every IBL team website and thank god I know Spanish well.... (yes I know it's Italian, but the Spanish really helps) I have gotten every stadium name and almost every capacity, but not the dimensions.

Where I need help is the financial settings. I've looked all over the internet to find something but can't. I have the attendance and ticket prices, but they're pointless without some good financial settings. If anyone want to pitch in and look for some details that I can't find? It would be appreciated. Or if you already know!

I have run a few years of IBL and its very interesting.

The goal is to get this as a solid template to put on PadresFan Mod site!!

I don't have any data, but thanks for working on this.

I was trying to build a database of Dutch Major League stats last night.

I'm tempted to try and do the British League, but the whole thing is disjointed as hell lol.

Unfortunately, the good data for the DML crapped out just about 2004, so I'm not even sure it's worth it.

The Dutch and Italian leagues are very well organized. The Italian leagues have been running for a few decades at least. Mark Funderburk played there in the 1980s.

So far as I know, they far outpace any other baseball in Europe. I'm not surprised at your find with English baseball leagues.

Me too. Websites for it aren't the world's best at updating

What data are you looking for on the Italian baseball league exactly?

Mostly Finances. Contracts, avg salaries things along that line to make it as realistic as possible in that area.

The stats, player creation and schedule I'm working on cause I have those to work off of. I finished the schedule yesterday and have worked with the league settings a little tonight.

But its finances I’m having trouble finding anything about. Just a few salaries and I could base almost everything around that! But so far no luck..

dual citizen imports get paid roughly 12-2400 a month
regular imports make anywhere from 12-3600 a month
Italians range from about 800-1800 a month

The IBL teams have an interesting name system. This is a link of the IBL standings. It shows the system I'm talking about.

Standings

The teams use the town names to be identified, but they're not big on nicknames and often the have something thing like Telemarket Rimini, but there usually just Rimini.

So should I put just Rimini in the team name box and leave the nicknames blank?

Or should I do something like Rimini as team name and Telemarket as nicknames?

Any suggestions would help!! I'm not a big soccer guy at all but I think some of the Premier League teams have this kind of setup. So maybe a soccer/futbol fan can shed some light on this.

Telemarket, T&A (San Marino), etc. are sponsors. All the clubs have a non-sponsored name of the club as well.

Yeah, makes sense. So any ideas on how to name the teams in a league?? Should I include the sponsors or leave them out. And no nicknames altogether?

I have the stats looking really good they fit the past few years totals really well. It’s just these last few things like names to figure out before I see if padresfan is interested in posting it on his site. Also, it runs well now but I haven’t tested it in a "full" baseball world. I know when I run the Nippon league and others with the MLB some real weird stuff can happen.

Yeah, anytime you run a universe with diverse leagues you need to pay a lot of attention. (At least, if you don't want such things to happen--some people are okay with it.)

Personally, I would just name them as they are unless you want to go with non-sponsored names. Apparently T&A isn't a sponsor, but the only one with a nickname seems to be Grosseto (Orioles.)

I know anytime I've used real European team names, I've tried to go with non-sponsored, and if they don't have a nickname, then I just use the whole thing for the city and leave the nickname blank.

If you look at the real jerseys they look like soccer jerseys, no names just sponsors all over. The hats are where the logo's were. I am going to make hats for them but I didn't quite understand how they were named and where they were located.

When I created the league for the first time, a couple versions ago, I did city and sponsor under city and baseball club as the nickname

No, that's Silvio Berlusconi Minister of Domestic Affairs.

I think it will be tough with the names, because they don't tend to follow the US structure of City & Nickname. Most of them have the City as the last part of the team name.
