I think the "untouchable" status is vital for staving off annoyances, such as the AI continuously proposing trades for a player you have no intention of trading. Just one recent example: I had a 5 star 23 year old pitcher leading the league in ERA and Ks. The AI determined that I had a weakness at catcher and a slight weakness at 3rd, which was accurate if and only if it was looking at my ML roster. I was more than willing to live with the weaknesses as I had a couple of near-ready prospects for those positions in AAA. So what does the AI do? Offers me a constant stream of old, overpaid and/or mediocre catchers and thirdbasemen for my stud starter. That's rather annoying if you sim the regular season most of the time like me. Switching the pitcher to "untouchable" saved a lot of aggravation. |

I would think the untouchable label would be particularly useful for online leagues, where you're dealing with other real-life owners. Even though I don't currently play OOTP online, my fantasy leagues use an untouchable list to keep us from wasting each others' time with proposals for players we have absolutely no intention of trading.

My only problem with shopping players is the hit to morale. I think shopping players is quite accurate. To me, shopping players is what GM's do, by chatting with other GM's and feeling them out.
If anything, you could prolonge the shopping period, such as, shop player and then a few days later get the results (except for off-season, which would just be tedious). But I prefer it be left just as it is. |

I still want to see an option to enact waiver restrictions on interleague trading. Those were a feature of real world MLB trading for a long time.

I keep hoping that the day never comes when his posts finally start making sense to me.

I use it to see what team(s) are interested in a player. I never accept an offer from that page though. Once I see the interested teams I got to the actual trade page to see what I can work out.
