Yeah, or even simpler, the game could alternate between two save locations. In that case the backup takes no time at all, as it's already there. Backup = previously saved game.

Yeah, I think the idea is, strictly from a layman's viewpoint, to reduce the frustrations and frequency of the "corrupted league file" that will not load. Should the flag get set indicating that the league you want to load probably won't, the last .dat files are then immediately available to load instead. The fact that it's automatic ensures that recent activity is maintained. In practice, I think it should go almost unnoticed, and should a tick occur, it should prove a reliable failsafe.

Then I hope my (and some others) problems with not importing the correct pitch selection should be fixed.

Waiting to use Gambos DB with all the good selections of what historical pitchers used on the mound.

I hope to that the handling of players for the playoffs now works. I´m talking about who is eligible to be on playoff rosters based on how the roster looked like Aug 31th.

Don´t like to see the AI calling in players in the middle of a playoff series from the DL.

Yes, the .dat files will just be moved which needs almost no time.
When that's done, OOTP writes the new .dat files. If it dies in the middle of the writing process, we still have a complete set of .dat files in the auto-save folder. That's the actual improvement.

No worries, the old files get renamed before saving (thus overwriting them) them. This just takes a fraction of a second.
