Can you use 2 Databases?

Ok, here is my ? can I use say Lahmen database for my ML Universe and say a Japanese League Database at the same time so each league would have it's own database to draft historical players.

I think you'd have to merge the two databases together first. How you would go about doing that is an entirely different matter, I have no experience in such an area. It is definitely a cool idea though.

Using the Lahman database is strictly an AL/NL thing. You couldn't even use it to do the NPB unless:
  1. 1. The NPB was your only league and you renamed the AL/NL to be CL/PL. And I'm not 100% that it would do all the automatic functions properly (expansion primarily).
  2. 2. Use include NPB players in your Lahman database and then they would be included in the MLB draft.
Be careful with your expectations of the Lahman database. It was never intended to be a catch-all generic import of leagues and players. It's designed to let you replay MLB seasons from 1871-present. Anything beyond that is tweaking within the confines of that original function.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to have data fed in to OOTP using a process similar to what is currently in OOTP to import Lahman data, but the Lahman import isn't so flexible currently that it can do that.

Currently here is the league setup that I have.

1 MLB 1950 Historical import. Lahman database for historical rookies. Auto expansion, so that part would be fine.

2 NPL 1950. Computer created players. Game created Rookie draftees.

I know that I can manually assign the dest. file of which database to get the drafted players from but would I have to manually change it each year. Trying to get a 10 year history before I take over a team. Any thoughts would be great.

Do a search for murmur13's npb database, it has both mlb and npb db's and works well. You may have to set it up in an earlier version and then import to X. OOTP 10 Mods section, back in July
