Creating new players

Kind of a dumb question here, but I'm not sure how to do this: How do you create a new player from scratch? And then after I create the player, I want to import him into my league's free agent pool.

Go to the league FA Page. There is an option there to create a player. One of the options when creating a player is to have him come in as a rookie in the draft pool or as an FA. Choice is yours.

You first have to go to manager options and check commissioner mode. Then do this.
