Learning a new position
Does learning a new position still affect a player's offensive development? I think it was back in the pre-SI days with the Spring Training points system that you could teach a player a position at the expense of their hitting. But say I have a guy who is only rated as a shortstop, but has a 10 arm and would make a great 3B. If I move him over there to learn, will his batting development stall out? If so, is there a point where it'll stop, like if he builds up enough experience points?
I have a huge prospect who needs to move over for another huge prospect, but I don't want it to affect his hitting.
