Base-Stealing/Running Strategies

For a team with average speed, stealing, and baserunning, what are reasonable stealing and running strategies for a team which places a decent amount of emphasis on baserunning; i.e. I don't want players sitting at first, but I don't want them killing themselves trying to get an extra base.

I've found the default stealing is generally too low, and default base-running is just too hard to tell. I wish the sliders more quantitative, i.e. % of base-runners in certain situations attempting to steal. I also wish, in terms of editing players, there was a stolen base success rate stat estimator listed based on speed and stealing ability.

I usually bump my settings up well past the default. I do make a good amount of outs on the basepaths, but I feel like the trade off is worth it for the extra runs I get from getting that runner into scoring position.

One thing to look for, though, is how much your league totals will allow for a good amount of stealing. I wanted a league where players could get 80-100 swipes if they were really quick, so I bumped up the success rate and adjusted the totals.

I rarely steal. It's not important enough in the modern era. Especially early in the game before the 7th inning I only steal with very fast guys. You give up too much run expectation when caught imo

For some reason, many of the better players in my league are also very speed inclined. Nearly ever hitter in my lineup is also a legitimate SB threat. I also have a few bench aces that can steal a base in a pinch.
