The trackball is really a great idea from MD. Andreas uses them since he otherwise will have lots of pain in his right hand after using a conventional mouse much. Now that he's used to the trackball, he doesn't want to miss it and he has no pain at all

Btw bosunmate, I think you didn't see my post about making the position of the back/forward buttons customizable. Maybe I can get it done so you may chose wether they are right or left.

Everyone I know who uses the bookmarks is a programmer. I wonder if that gives any insight into it.

The rest of us just want to use the GUI that you have set up for us and focus on the gameplay and customizing our leagues...rather than customizing our interface. Visual and analytical thinkers process stuff differently too. Its not as natural for me...a visual learner...to remember quick keys etc. And I just like hitting a button on the screen with a mouse click and having it react...ha.

OOTP has helped me keep what's left of my sanity as well (BWAHAHAHA!). If you go with the trackball and the number pad combo your pain should drop to almost nothing. Mine did.

And no problem, Bosunmate. No thanks are needed: been there, done that, suffered through it, eaten the pain pills, have the T-shirt.

That's not what you asked. I use the forward/backward buttons the most, but, I have several bookmarks to obscure areas of OOTP that mean a lot to me.

I play using the keyboard as much as I can on a notebook, so I use the bookmarks constantly. I rarely use the back buttons to navigate, just the F# keys or the nav bar at the bottom, and the player page right click of course. The addition I'd like to see would be scroll support for notebook scroll buttons.

You really seem to dismiss some who try to give good feedback sometimes when you could find out some good information on how to better the game............Just sayin'.

Trying to please everyone seems to have led to redundancy. I never use bookmarks, recent, or the icons on the bottom.

I saw your remark Markus about the customizing, but Md gave me a better idea. Thanks

About the only thing I use the bookmark feature for is to easily get to 'Current Contract Offers'.

I find it alot easier to just go there to check out my current offers b/c I never remember where place to get there is.

I know Markus uses the libraries from pisd for layout stuff and managing it, but I've just started using the ribbon interface in a couple of work programs and find it really useful.

This is the thing that Office 2007 uses - it uses a bit more vertical space than a menu but seems cleaner and more user friendly to me.

I even managed to convince the wife to stick with 2007 over 2003 and now she flies around in Word and Excel with it.

The poll let you select multiple options, so it could be that many use the bookmarks but only selected one option in the poll. I use bookmarks extensively, but I probably use the toolbar along the bottom much more.

The most essential navigation tool was not in the poll - which is the right click functionality, both to go back to the previous primary screen and for quick navigation when clicking on a player or team link.

I'm still struggling mightily getting used to the ribbon in Access 2007.

I also like the right click option on player pages, will admit though to not using bookmarks or recent. However someone mentioned using the F keys which i didn't even know about. Guess that's why they have a manual. Hmmm.

Bookmarks

I can't believe how few ppl use bookmarks! You can use F# shortcuts after setting bookmarks up. It is by far the fastest way to get to the screens you want quickly.

I would like the bookmarks more if I could set it to CTRL + R for the roster screen for instance. It's hard to remember if F2 is roster or transaction screen, there's no mnemonic for it. Just a helpful suggestion why I don't use them more (though I do use them).

I tried Office 2007 for a while and then went back to Office 2003. At least I can find everything now.

Programmers can get too cute with interfaces.

I honestly didn't realize bookmarks would map my pages to F-keys for some reason. Going to try that out once we get that new patch!
