Questions for those who edit their leagues.......

I'm just trying to learn how to edit some of the files. The first task I want to do is somehow edit the minor league teams that are associated with the major league squad. If you can do it from in game, I have not figured that out.

I think (Please tell me if I'm wrong) that I need to somehow edit the teams.dat file that's in the saved_games\league folder? How do i do this? I also would like to figure out how to change some of the pictures that are associated with my league. For instance I would like to change the Logo for my league to the real MLB logo instead of the fake generated one. Is this possible to do in game or something that needs to be edited in a .dat file?

I have plenty of questions, but hopefully by figuring these out it might lead to some other answers. Thanks for any help.

1. When you say you want to edit your minor league teams, do you mean just general stuff like changing names? If so, you can do it from league setup. Just select the appropriate minor league from the menu on the left, then go into structure and change the names.

2. You can use the real MLB logo, just go into your league folder, news folder, graphics, find the current one that is being used and replace it with the MLB logo. Just be sure to name the MLB logo the exact same as the currently used one.

In reply to number 1, ok I guess I have to change every name that way. I guess I didnt even think of just renaming the current team to the correct one.

I was thinking that for instance the Washington Nationals real AAA affiliate is the Syracuse Chiefs and in my game its the New Orleans Zephyrs. I was thinking I'd have to edit a .dat file to get the game to change it.

I'll have to work on number 2 later on to see what ya mean.
