Getting rid of HoFers

I accidentally posted this onto the wrong forum.

Whenever I start a new historical league, play begins with almost 1000 HoFers. Removing them one at a time is quite laborious. is there a way to remove them all at once? Or to have the game start with no one in the Hall? I have taken the HoF spreadsheet out the the stats folder, but this did not solve the problem.

Other than "live with it", are there any suggestions?

Thanks,

Charles

I believe there is a way during league creation to clear the history. I don't have the game open, so I don't have the exact button press in front of me.

I think you can do that, but it clears all the history prior to your import date. Not just the Hall of Fame.

To my knowledge, the game doesn't use the csv files any longer by default. I believe it uses historical_database.odb which is in the same directory.

It will use the .odb file unless you remove it from the stats directory. Then it will use the .csv file.

Gambo, do you know anything about this? It's an issue I posted, "http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...abase-odb.html"

Where do you find these files? How can you tell if it is an .odb file or a .csv file?

Usually in C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 10\stats

He's referring to the file extensions. The file will be historical_database.ods or simply historical_database if you hide extensions.

I'd probably just rename the file rather than delete it. You'll never know when you'll want it back. Also, I'm not 100% certain, but some functions, like the Neutralized Batting and Pitching may only be available via the .ods file. Don't take that as gospel though.

All the same options are available. Neutralized etc.

Also BMW I dont know how the .odb database is compiled.

According to Sir Spritze, the .odb database is the squishing of all the other .csv files into one monster .odb file which makes for a faster load time. If I get what you're saying correctly Gambo the gamer has the choice between Real Life Stats and Neutralized Stats with or without the monster .odb file? And BMW, I don't think anyone's advocating flat-out removal of the .odb beast. Copying it to another folder and then removing it is probably the way to go, if one has the inclination or need to remove it.
