That's fine. Because OOTP Developments are based in Germany they use Euro's as their European purchasing currency.

I live in the UK along with a fair few of us on here and we've purchased in Euros for the last few versions.

If you purchased anything online from Germany (via amazon for example) you'd be charged in Euros.

okay fair enough...though you are probably a hardcore fan of the game so how you pay/ how much isnt that big an issue. With me, i like the game from what i played of the demo and i would like to purchase. This would be my first purchase..and although the game is impressive, i'll only buy if it makes sense money wise. 30 euros seems too steep so i'll pass. If there was a way to buy in dollars-that would seriously tempt me.

I understand your reasoning and would never argue it's not valid. But FWIW you're missing out on a great game that only costs pennies per hour of play.

Football Manager 2010 went up $10 for us in the States this year. I'll still buy (but I know some will pass because of the higher price) because like OOTP the value in cost per hour is still dirt cheap.

I didn't check the website to know with certainty, but the 29.99 Euros is already a discounted price from what the OP would pay later should he change his mind and decide to purchase then, right?

its a good point...and id consider it if i had a boxed version but certainly not for download. Especially when i see i can pay 10 pounds less in dollars. As i said, this is my first time would be buying...so its not like im certain im gonna play it for a long time and really enjoy it. Who knows, if i bought, i may become a fan and buy next time without hassle.

Also, it doesntmake much sense that the price will go back up and stay up AFTER the WS does it? ...surely the price will come down in a bit.

Look at the price of OOTP9. Right now, it costs more than OOTPX does. When 11 comes, X is going to stay the same price.

If I were you, I would go download OOTP8. It is free now. You'll play it. You'll love it. You'll kick yourself for not getting X when it was discounted.

I started with version 9 two months before 10 and switched immediatley. I have no regrets. The second 11 comes, it will be bye bye 10.

With so many options for customizing, the ideas for you leagues are almost endless.

The game you downloaded should already be patched.

As to what to do...well, as Aleister Crowley used to say, "Do what thou wilt."

If you're like me when I first got the game...

1) start a league that suits your fancy
2) play for a month (OOTP time)
3) find something you wish you'd done differently
4) correct "mistake" and back to step 2.

Repeat until you have a new brainchild and back to step 1.

Okay well...im pretty sure im gonna start a 2009 season with the Orioles. Obviously because its the opening day roster/ratings...certain people wont be that accurate. Dont matter too much though, btw are there any up to date ones? thanks
