Little League?
I get my best ideas.. wait.. STRANGEST ideas when I am at lunch at work away from OOTP.
I am pondering a ltttle league level. Similar to feeder I suppose, but you have different levels. 10-12 year sold and 13-15. You set strict limits to age and keep orsters and games minimum. You have fiannacials off for this level or at $1 per player ect ect... They then can move to college/hgih school feeder than the bigs.. woudl it work? |

Actually its not really for a feeder league.. more of a minor pro thing...
It can be dinged as an independant league at any level and have a younger age group. I perosnally already have a separate indepentant professional league that pays very little. Older vets who cant get a break in Bigs anymore go here. Create the same league with even smaller salaries and low age range, and see what happens. WONT be feeder, in fact I dotn know why I mentioned it. I dotn use feeder leagues. The younger players become free agents when they are too old. they can progress. Variables League 1 10-15 year olds. (lowest finanacials possible) no minor leagues League 2 Independant league 16-45 year olds (lower finanacials) No minor leagues League 3 The Bigs! 18-45 (MLB money) Full minor league structure Once a player is too old for league 1, they become a free agent (right?) then here the only option is to go to league 2. Once they hit 18 they can stay in league 2 or go to league 3 as free agent. (Or trade since I allow inter league trading) I already have a League with League 2 and 3 in it. (Except minimum age in league 2 is 18 and in league 3 21) People might no tlike this set up because good league 2 free agents get almost always gobbled up by the bigs, but thats what rreal life is like. I am just wondering if the young league woudl work at all.. the reality is I will give it a beta test in the next few days and see what happens. |

Keep us updated, I just tried a quick game set up with an 11-14 and that works age wise although bit weird to see an 11 year old with full facial hair

Something to take note of if you do try is that I just checked the free agent pool out and they are all 20+ age wise.

I've tried this in OOTP9. I got a little annoyed at the ways player transactions were handled, since MLB style transactions don't really seem natural in that age group. Development was a bit odd, too, but that was to be expected. I found that players didn't progress through the league levels quite as smoothly as I would've liked. They'll often get released mid-season when they hit the age limit. I've actually been thinking of giving it another go in OOTPX.
