Starting a Historical/Fictional League

Starting a league in 1850. Want to play with financials, etc....What happens in the years before it gets to 1871 as far as the modifiers, financials, stats and fielding?

I want to avoid modifiying those four files if I can.....

Well, I think you would have to use a season to base everything on that is 1871 or later. Then you can make the actual game year anything you want during setup. (i.e. you would have an 1871 era league starting in 1850). I don't think the database has any info prior to this.

Maybe I'm wrong though. The 19th century stuff isn't my specialty.

If you set up your league with the appropriate settings you want for 1850, it'll use those until you get to 1871, at which point in time it'll start using the game files. Basically, if you've got the game configured to import those things, it looks at those files and imports the settings for that year, but only if it finds the year you're in. If it doesn't, it continues with the settings you've got.
