Quick Start Frustration
When I originally heard the term "quick start", I assumed it meant a way to save a league structure after making all necessary customizations including leagues, teams, etc. Basically a way to save in template form everything the way you like it - excluding the actual players.
Now, however, I'm seeing that it's basically a glorified backup. Meaning - I save the quick start - not only does it save all my customized parameters, but also statistics, boxscores, etc. Not what I want at all. I then thought well maybe I'll just take my league (that I really want to restart with slight parameter changes and a whole new slate of players) and save it as a template. While it saves the structure of the league, all my logos, uniforms, parks, etc., aren't saved with it. Heck, that's about 50% of the drudgery of creating a new league! Ok, so then I decided to perhaps go back to the quickstart route. Even though a quickstart saves all stats info and everything, I thought maybe a way to solve my problem is to load the quickstart and just blow out all the info I don't want. So - I'm asking here because I don't see it - how can I take a quickstart that was saved in June (in game-time), and blow out all the history/statistics/players and start from scratch with the same league parameters/uniforms/caps/logos, etc.? Is it possible? Last edited by Craig Scarborough; 11-18-2009 at 12:59 PM. |

League Setup - Functions - Erase enitre league history, and, if you want, Erase all career stats of all players. You can also release all players to FA and then delete all FA's if you want to start with completely new players.

Thanks much for the response! I've done what you recommended - I have all my players as free agents now - but can't figure out how to a) delete all the free agents and b) set the time back from May 21st, part way through my season to the beginning of either the next season or re-start this one from scratch.
Any ideas? |

Go to the Free Agents screen. Along the bottom there is an option to Delete all Free Agents.
You cannot set the time back. Your quickstart should begin on the date you created it. Only thing I can suggest is load your quickstart, sim the season up Jan, then release your players, delete the FA's, reset league history.

Hate to beat a dead horse here, but I've done everything I need to do to save a brand-new quickstart. I've created a new 2009 Major League, fixed all the logos and uniforms, changed all parameters to what I want, released all the players, deleted them and have now completed each roster with fictional players. However - when I look at my team's major league roster, no one is listed.
What's the correct way to start completely from scratch from a players point of view? |
