OOTP 9 Player Considering X

I now have OOTP 9 and am thinking of purchasing OOTP X, especially for historical league play. The new patch for X has me interested. 2 Questions:

1) Is it OK to have OOTP 9 & OOTP X on the same computer at the same time, or will it present any compatibility issues? (I would think all the files would be stored in different folders, but I just want to confirm).

2) How is historical play in OOTP X vs. 9? Accuracy? Flexibility? (I see in the new patch the correct jersey numbers are imported--that's cool). Is upgrading worth the price if I'm mainly going to play historical leagues?

you can have both. I was actually in an 8,9, and 10 league at the same time.
