Can You Edit Player History?
Is there a means to edit a player's history file? I want the player histories to reflect my end of year "Sporting News All-Star" selections.
Thanks! Mark |

Yeah you can...If your in commish mode, open up the player profile, select player history and on the bottom half of the screen there is a button that says Edit History...

Open up their player page and go to the "history" tab.
On the bottom half of the screen there will be all of their history. Just add lines of text to the bottom that you see fit, just make sure the date is in a yyyymmdd format. For example: 20091001 Named 2009 Sporting News All-Star. Then just hit "save changes"

My apologies....I never noticed the button. Probably still thinking in terms of OOTP 6.5. Guess I'll have to think twice before I admonish my 11 year old for not paying attention to what's right in front of him.
Thanks! |

Quote:
- know the Player ID of the player - export stats, look up the player, zero out all of his stats - import stats For the history, you can delete the .txt file for player_(id number). |

Yeah, you don't have to be in commish mode to do this in a solo league. I do it off and on in my league.
Do be careful though as when you first open the file everything is highlighted so if you hit backspace it all goes away. I know as Afino said there is a "save changes" button but to tell the truth I'm not sure there is a way to exit without saving(?) ie a "cancel" button. I know one time I opened a player file with everything highlighted and by accident hit a key and the history went blank. I went to commish mode and found the player's ID # and put back his history file from my most recent backup (I backup every 5 games so I never lose more than one time through the rotation in case of a problem). I will admit though I may have panicked when the history went blank and didn't realize I could simply exit without saving ![]() Like notepad you can right click any place you want to add text, it doesn't have to be at the bottom. If you want something in the middle just click at the end of a line and hit enter and you'll have an open line to add an entry. |
