Oh My, Oh My...

Grady Sizemore, the American League MVP, had his career ended due to a ruptured achilles tendon which didn't heal correctly in February of 2010.

His stat line in 2009 was really good; 39 HRs, 123 RBIs, .303 BA, .399 OBP and a .603 SLG which lead the majors.

Would you guys undo his injury and allow him to play the game without retiring, but hit his ratings a tad to reflect injury, or would you just allow OOTP to do what OOTP wants to do and keep him injured?

I'm indifferent. In all honesty, I want to keep Sizemore injured because he cost me a wild-card tiebreaker by sending me home packing by hitting a walk-off double to score three runs.

I wouldn't do anything. It sucks to lose a great player but in real life great careers have been cut short and will be again.

Well, unfortunately you're no longer really playing a historical game. It's kind of morphed into a fictional game, now that you're past 2008. 2008 and prior, I would re-instate him because I want to see players play out their full careers from the year they started in real life to the year they finished in real life. I have no issues with long term (say 500 days) injuries, but I draw the line at career-ending injuries, when playing 2008 and prior. You can edit out the 8 career-enders in the injuries.txt file, however they will still occur due to the new injury setbacks feature.

I would love to be able to toggle off career-ending injuries, so I don't have to keep manually re-instating guys in my historical games, but that's probably not that big a priority particularly amongst the people who play fictional games. No problems here with setbacks delaying players. I just want to be able to play it the way I want to play it.

Returning to your question, I would say keep him retired and make sure your ammy draft has enough rounds to keep turning over the players, but that's just me. As The Wolf says ad nauseam ( ): "It's your game, play it your way." Pretty wise advice I'd have to say.
