How do you make managers play players at the positions you want them to play?
I'm trying to get guys to develop at certain positions but my minor league managers are stubborn...anything to do?

I get the impression lately that a lot of people not only don't use player strategies, but have never even looked at the tab.
Hey, all of you out there who don't use them! Start using them! They give you a *lot* more control over the players of your entire organization.

Player Strategy is really only useful if you choose to have the player start. For utility players, Force Position is useless. There really is no current way to prevent Mike Jacobs from being a defensive replacement... at shortstop.

So there is nothing I can do? I have a CF in the minor leagues who I want to start in CF against righties and LF against lefties so that way the guy develops in LF. But he's starting in CF every game. Anything I can do?

My problem with individual player strategies is that once you set them, there's no way to tell which players you've previously modified without checking them all one at a time. It would be very beneficial if players on the strategy screen that have been modified would show up in a different color or something (like OOTP5).
It would also be handy if the player strategy setting were accessible directly from a tab in the player's profile. If nothing else having the "force start at position" be selectable directly from the profile would be fantastic. |

You are both correct. Looking at the Player tab on the Team Strategy page does tell you who is in a force start mode. However, the fact that this info isn't displayed on the various roster pages is a real drawback. I've been trippped up by this several times. I imagine it should be possible to get Markus to fix this in OOTP11.

Just out of curiosity did you have the AI manager reset the depth charts and lineups? If you don't do this after making force start strategy changes, they can't occur as far as I'm aware.
