Lack of blockbuster deals
I am in my 3rd year solo league and I have not seen 1 trade involving a big name superstar. I have seen many minor league player deals and some low to mid quality RP deals, but with AI teams in the red I would think at trading deadline it would move players it can't sign.
My settings are all default but I do have it on hard for difficulty which should only effect me in trading with the AI team correct? I would like to see the trading block improved for the AI. It only seems to put ageing veterans on there, again should put players on there it won't be able to sign. Have you all seen the same or is this just some dynamic with my league. As always appreciate the input and advise. |

I've seen this in my league. It's year #5 and I'm only seeing trading picking up now, much less blockbuster deals. However, I know what the cause was; my financials were out of whack when I first started up the league as it used the financials.txt that came with the initial release of OOTP X. Everybody was over budget, resulting in financial gridlock and preventing any trades. This file was revised in a patch and it has taken a few "years" for my financials to improve to the point where trades could even be feasible. Perhaps you have a version of this problem, because blockbuster players make high salaries?

up to date on version level. Love this game, best sim out there so I will just keep the ball rolling and see what happens.
I started playing sim baseball with Microleague Baseball back in '85 or '86 and my friend and I would keep stats on paper year after year and always dreamed of doing things this game does. I love everything about this game and would never complain about it because of how basic Microleague was. I guess the trick is trying to get a computer engine to think and act like a real life GM......computers acting human? that would be the beginning of the end of the world. |
