Historical Draft Question
Ok, so I began my league in 1901 with the ammy draft in April. In 1921, the league went 'online' and a complete redraft was done in April, 1921, forcing me to move the ammy draft to July.
Come July 1921 and the ammy pool is not the 21 class, but actually, the 22 class. No problem, but is there any way for me to pull the 21 class in come April 1922 when we move the draft back to April other than one player at a time? For the record, the 1921 class was not included in the redraft, only the rosters as of April 1921. |

I sup-hose you could change all the 1921 debut dates to 1922 in the master.csv. Then it would mush 1921 and 1922 together in the next draft. Just use search and replace on that column in your fave spreadsheet.

), recommends setting the draft date to something like December 1st. In your case that would mean: December 1st, 1921, which results in the '22 debuters debuting when they should. Too late to save this particular game. More like an FYI, in order to avoid this incredible PITA in future games.

If one wants to be pendantic, having an amateur draft prior to 1965 is ahistorical anyway, so consequently having an ahistorical result shouldn't be considered that out of place.

Changing the year is probably the best idea. I forgot about that.

I guess I could change the 22 guys to say, 20, and then change the 21 guys to 22. I should only get the 21 class players doing it that way. Thanks for the help and advice. I've made those changes. Hopefully, this is the end of this issue. Last edited by Cooleyvol; 12-12-2009 at 09:25 PM. |
