Retired player's photo showing up for a rookie

Is there a way to fix this other than changing the name of the rookie to include a middle initial or something? I've got HOF pictures showing up for some next generation players and it's confusing the heck out of me.

I did do a mod for this problem. As noted, names on the master file and photos must be changed.

Basically he's changed the names for you so that each is unique.

The mod supports both Gambo and the original DB. But I misunderstood your issue. I had assumed you were working with historical players. I haven't got a way to work with fictional players other than manually changing the names and photos.

I don't get it. Player pictures are based on the player number not a name, right? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Pics created in FaceGen are but I have seen where OOTP re-uses a player ID. This results in the new player getting the pic of the retired guy, his old player history, and his old stats. Frustrating.

Yes, I'm familiar with that, which can be avoided by not deleting minor leaguers who have not reached the major leagues (at, of course, the expense of the size of the database).

But the OP asked if there was a way to fix a duplicate picture problem by changing a name, to which someone said "yes, with a mod" -- which randomizes/changes names.

So, unless I'm missing something we're not talking about the same thing ... clearly FaceGen pictures are created for each unique player ID number ... they can all be called John Smith, but they'll get different pictures.

So I'm still lost on the problem here.

Maybe it's what I'm doing with my HOF players...I freeze their pic when they get inducted. Doesn't that change the filename to player name.jpg instead of player ID.jpg? And doesn't the engine search for a matching photo first before generating one? meaning if a matching photo (by player name) exists, then it will match it up with the record???
