Templates?
Does anyone know where I can find a quality league template? Would like to create my own league and have the minor league affiliates mirror those of their MLB and not be random like the game has them.
Any suggestions?? |

Thanks for the help but I'm still lost here.... how do I upload this template? Its a zip file. His league is like a 2012 league. How do I get to the point where just the leagues are set but I could start with 2007 rosters?

I think I will decline to answer that post on the grounds that doing so honestly would so get me into hot water with the mods.

Are you looking for a fictional league that is set up like MLB? If so just create a new game, select create standard league, and select the MLB setup --- that should get you a modern day MLB setup. |

The AAA, AA, and A setups do not mirror the actual affiliates of their major league team. For instance the Pirates AAA affiliate in real life is Indianpolis yet in OOTP its a random name chosen differently every time you start a new league. Was hoping to find a template that I could use over and over again with the correct assignments.

there is actually a workaround for this so you can have all official team names with the standard ootp mlb template that comes with the game.
from the "did you know?" thread... - If you add a line "keep_it" to the configuration file of OOTP (called "app", located in the user application data folder of OOTP 9 which is called "config", simply do a search for that folder on your HD) and set the value to 1, then the game will not replace the team nicknames of the real standard leagues with fictional nicknames when creating the league. this works with ootp10 as well. I'm still pretty sure if you do the following, you should get the current MLB setup w/ correct affiliations. Please let me know if this does not work.
Create New Game Create Standard League Select Major American League Go to Advanced Mode (at least I do to tweak my settings) When I look at the International League I see the Indianapolis Indians as a Pittsburgh affiliate Hope this works for you, as it should save a lot of time.
