Two September meltdowns in a row....
Maybe I am a terrible clutch manager, or maybe I'm over using my players but I am in the process of blowing a six game September lead for the second consecutive season.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there some hidden rating that factors into these swoons? My team has dominated from May thru August but then I can't seem to buy a hit or get a save w/ my ace closer. They find ways to blow leads and I watch quietly weeping as my lead slips away. I have a sinking feeling that I will get fired after this second collapse. |

In my 1985 historical League, the New York Mets took control of the division in May and dominated through the summer,at one point holding a double digit lead on the rest of division. It continued through August, and on the 25th of the month they led the division by 8 games over St Louis. Then, the wheels fell off,and they went 12-24 the rest of the way, losing the division in the process to St Louis who finished 24-14

My teams meltdown always comes in the first round of the playoffs. The last few years it has been against the same team. It is a best of five and those series can go anyway. I always win two but lose the series.

I had a major meltdown this September, going from 16 games up to 1 down.
Though that may have been caused by my thee aces going: Tommy John, Ulnar Realignment, and Shoulder Soreness, each out for several months.

No it isn't. I've managed the Cubs to a World Series before.
