Cannot Offer Extension To Manager

I am trying to resign my long time manager to a contract extension and the menu does not give the option. His contract runs out at the end of this year. I do not have the option for another manager at the big league level as well. Is this something that will change when the season gets closer to the playoffs? I am certain I have extended managers before the end of the year in the past.

if it's not showing the option, then you most likely extended his contract at some earlier point in time, or the game might have done it if you just took over the team.

How old is he? He might be hanging them up. I had this problem once......

I have had control of the team for quite awhile. For some reason both have signed extensions and I do not remember going through that process. So I guess I should do some more searching before looking for answers.
