Do people play with random splits turned on or off?

Do you like playing with splits turned on or off? I have in historical leagues but am reconsidering.

When you create a league, there is an option to create random splits based on historical averages. If this option is off I believe no splits are used.

I voted for both historical options, as i alternate between them. I generate Fictional splits all the time for fictional leagues, though.

I play historical and use splits, so I voted as such. I'm curious as to why you're reconsidering. I've always suspected that random splits penalize right handed hitters too much, or reward left handed hitters too much, however you want to look at it. I've attempted to play with no splits, and while that might provide more accurate ratings, it doesn't "feel" enough like real baseball to me.

I was reconsidering just because the splits aren't based on the actual players. It can really change a player, although it is rare the splits are that dramatic. But like you said it doesn't feel right if there aren't any splits.
