Will OOTP10 correctly import the 2009 season yet? Or will a new patch be needed to do that? Or will be have to wait until OOTP11?

You need to add the uniform # csv that comes with OOTPx to the Lahman 5.7 csv folder. Then you should be able to import it the same as any other modded db.

BUT

using the raw Lahman you cannot choose neutralized stats nor base fielding on a career nor use draft values and pitch repertoires will just be whatever the game defaults a player to. Probably a few more things will be missing as well but I hope everyone gets the drift.

It probably will work but much of the fancy stuff will be non-functional for your league.

alright so heres the skinny on the db... i dled version 5.7 here http://baseball1.com/content/view/57/82/ then i put the db in my stats folder. went to create a new game and it only lets me create a 2008 league not a 2010 or 2009 league from what i have been told you have to create a historical league which i did and when i went to import it im getting an error any help?

You must delete or rename the .odb file in the stats folder if you put the new Lahman in there. Don't try to import history when you create your historical db either. If you use a seperate folder for the new Lahman you won't need to mess with the .odb file.

Unless I made an importing mistake there seems to be something different with this database here is an example:

Thoughts?

The columns appear to be shifted.

there is a new column you must remove titled G_batting in the batting.csv, it is the third or fourth column in the csv.

Would you mind giving a quick walk-thru of how to do this for the less technical among us?

Also, is there a way to change the import settings in a historical league from "Base Fielding Ratings on Entire Career" to "Base Fielding Ratings on 3-year period" without it doing a recalc?

Open the batting.csv in Excel or some other spreadsheet, delete the column and then Save. It will require the newest version of Excel becuase of the number of rows.

You cannot use "Base Fielding Ratings on Entire Career" with the generic Lahman 5.7. That requires some of the additional fields OOTP adds to the master.csv

Yes, that's why I was trying to change the setting for my existing historical league. However, when I change the "Base Fielding Ratings on..." setting via the League Settings screen, when I return to my league all of the player ratings have been recalced. Is there a way to change this setting without having it do the recalc?

Thank you for the csv procedures!

Once you have chosen "Base on career" you cannot unchose it, nor can you choose something else from the league screen. Actually you can probably change the check boxes but they don't do nuthin. You would need to start a new league.

Just to confirm....

So basically, once I've chosen "Base Fielding on career stats" there's no way I can get imported Amateur Draft pools to use the 2009 database?

Who doesn't OOTP just make this easier for the less technologically inclined and release a 'data update' patch that will install the new Lahman database?
