Best Record in a Month?

It's Sept. 1st in the first year of my fictional league and I'm starting to get a little worried. I've never had great luck right out out of the gate before, so I was really happy when I started April at 14-11. I made a trade to fill a hole in the outfield and my team batting average shot up about 30 points over the next couple of weeks and my record did as well.

I finished May with a 26-2 record!

I was thinking that I had struck gold early, and that I had set myself up to win the title often. Then my team came back to earth. I'm one game under .500 for the last two months. I could use a spark from the minors, but my AAA and AA squads are both alive in their playoffs; I'd rather them have that experience and come up afterwards.

I'm at 84 wins with 29 games to go. I'm not worried about winning the division (the other teams are just a tick below .500), but I have my doubts about reaching 100 wins, which I once thought was a lock.

Has any one seen a team just rip through a month like that before? I'm guessing that everything just clicked at once for eveyone, but I don't recall many players being "hot."
What about the cooling off? I didn't expect them to play play .700 ball or something surreal the rest of the way, but I thought they would be better than .500 over the last 50+ games.

P.S. - I love this game.

That's insane! I had an expansion team in my fictional league rattle off 16 wins out of their first 17 games in their 3rd year of existence then cool off and finish 3rd. What you rattled off is very impressive tho

On the corpse. My question is...
No, my question. I get to go first. Why in pluperfect hell would you pee on corpse?

This wasn't my team, but they were in my solo league. The Praire De Sac Racoons started off 21-0 and then lost 12 in a row.

Not as sucessful as your run but a let down still..
April 15-8
May 15-13
June 19-8
July 12-15
August 12-16
September 11-12

I have 3 Pagano (Cy Young) canidates and the league leader in AVG on my squad and the offense cannot stay consistent enough to keep winning. It's the anti-synergy. 6 gsmes left and a 4 game lead for the final W.C. spot. I have had 2 winning weeks since the All-Star break.

I've had a few 26-0 months (in A ball, with a AA quality team)

For the majors, 24-3. I missed the playoffs that year.
