Player on Two 40-man rosters

I've been moving some players around using commissioner mode, but I didn't notice until later that the players I was moving around that had been on one team's 40-man roster did not disappear from that roster, despite joining another team and being placed on a second 40-man roster. This is obviously a fairly significant problem and I'm trying to come up with a work-around but haven't found anything yet. My last backup was before I did some major work to my league, involving many many hours of hard work of which the player movement was the final piece.

If anyone has a solution, please help me out. I am about to be out of town on a business trip and OOTP is the only way I can amuse myself while I'm out.

You might want to contact MikeV on these forums.

The GUBA had a similar problem, but I forgot how he resolved it.

i had this happen last night while processing out contraction draft, i had to retire the player, and then change his team to the correct one

Griffey, that was one thing I tried before I posted that didn't work. I did, however, find something that did. When I put the players in question back on my team, whose 40-man roster they were still on, and then dfa'd them using act-as (not sure if act-as had any part in it), they were able to be placed back on the other team with (hopefully) no consequences, as they were off my 40-man for good.

Hopefully this post will help anyone in the future who has this type of issue.

Anytime I make significant manual changes to my leagues I always do a quick backup by zipping up my entire league file. There's nothing worse than putting in a bunch of work and then realizing, when it's too late, that you f'd up.

I had a backup, no doubt, so I wouldn't have lost the league entirely, just the hours and hours I had spent creating an in-depth expansion of my current league set-up. If I had lost that, I may have returned to the league at some point, but I find losing an entire day's worth of genuine work on a league to be crushing, and it kind of kills my desire to really continue with the league.
