Hey Guys
Well I enjoy text sim games and have played the front office games and bowl bound college football. Well, BBCF crapped out on me, erased my league so now i'm desperate to find a new game to kill time.
I don't follow baseball, don't buy baseball games but the hype this series gets is getting me interested. My fear, will I be completely overwhelmed by OOTP10 so much that I won't even wanna bother with it? It's $40 right? Pro's/cons of the game would be great. Thanks. I think Puresim has a little more accurate player results, a more engaging in-game manager interface, and a great developer who listens to the input of forum participants. OOTP has a more involved contract / financial system, and has much more configurable options. There are also more ratings for players, including morale and personality. I don't personally like the morale and personality systems, but maybe you will. OOTP lets you use the scouting system so you don't see the true ratings of the player. Both games let you adjust the scale of the ratings you see, so you can make them less exact and have to rely on their performance more to evaluate them. They are both good. Try both demos and see which you prefer. Last edited by robc; 01-23-2010 at 07:09 PM. |

This is the only text sim I have played. The ability to play online against other G.M.s has absolutely sucked me in. I have yet to, and may never, start a solo league. You could completely immerse yourself in the minutia af baseball or spend 1-3 hours a week managing a team.
Cannot beat the experience. I am not a stat freak so there is a ton of enjoyment to be had for normal baseball fans and non-stat researchers. |

It depends. Did you want to play a Major League game? Or do you want to play a completely fictional universe? |

major league. Ummmm....Can the league start at zero with no history at all and be built up as I start? Thats what I liked about Bowl Bound College Football....every game was a piece of history. Last edited by Nothingface; 01-23-2010 at 11:42 PM. |

Padresfan has all the mods you will need for the game. Unis/logos/ballparks/templates/databases, everything. I hope you like the game.
