I have no idea. I just ignore that stupid score.
But, to be more helpful - I "think" it has something to do with finances too maybe ? And to be even more "helpful" .. from the manual : OOTP Baseball Manual - Manager Score "Manager scores have no real impact on the game. They're just a way of assigning a number to your performance. The score takes into account a number of things, such as your regular season winning percentage, playoff rounds won, how well you met the owner's expectations and so forth. So, for example, you could get a significantly higher score by winning a championship when your owner only expected the club to play .500 ball, than you would if your team was the odds-on favorite all season long."

I think the decision to add a critical comment after the score in these messages is more interesting than the scoring system itself (which is mysterious, questionable, elusive and probably bogus
). It does tend to add insult to injury (or maybe it's really adding insult to insult). Could be just a practical joke, though. ![]() My advice: don't dwell on it. |
