Question A player that cannot be traded

I am trying to lower my payroll and have a player making 15mil in his final year before the season starts. I have tried to trade him but every time I do, I get a message that he is either already included in a pending offer or will be a free agent soon. Neither is the case. Why would this happen? And how can I fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Have you gone into your league transactions area and clicked the pending offers and pending trades tabs? Maybe there is something there that could explain it.

Does he have a no-trade clause in his contract?

Sorry if I can't be of more help. I haven't encountered this personally.

Check his contract. That sounds like the "no trade" error message.

It is not a no-trade contract and there are no pending offers. I know. It's weird.
Thanks for trying to help.
