Expansion question regarding talent pool

I am operating a 24 team league and thinking of expanding to 28 teams. My greatest concern is that the pool of talent available cannot support four more teams (in pitching alone, 24 to 28 teams means roughly 48 more major league pitchers). I know it wouldn't be the case in real live, but I was wondering if the game would start producing a few more quality players if there are more teams.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has expanded to see if you think it affected your league negatively...
