Financial Question

Does money available for renegotiations include arbitration? In other words, if I sign player x and player Y, and that takes up all my renegotiation money, will there be money available to offer other players arbitration after the season?

Arbitration estimates are already factored into the amount you have available for contract extensions.

Ok, then it would be a good idea to offer extensions to unrestricted FA's, and not worry about long term contracts for players who are arbitration eligible?

Signing arbitration eligible players to long term contracts may be a good idea to save some money eventually. Some may be willing to sign for less than their arbitration estimate when they get multiyear contracts.

I know it would be a good idea, but then I wouldn't have enough to sign UFA's

Actually, since the signed arbitration elegible players are no longer elegible, it frees up money for UFA's if the extension was cheaper than the arbitration estimate
