More Likely to Sign

Is a player more likely to sign an extension with a mutual, team, or player option if the option year is above his demand?

I think they are most likely to sign with a player option

Its obviously a player option. That means that the ball is in the player's court no matter what. If they under-perform, they can kick in that extra year and make you pay for their ineffectiveness. If they think they can get great money on the open market, they can bolt. Or they can bolt if they don't like your team.

I almost always start with a mutual option.
