In Search of Paid Technical Support Help!

I'm sure everyone knows that, as a small developer, we're not in a position to hire a full-time technical support team. However, along with our new technical support initiative, we will be offering compensation to a few people in exchange for helping us out with technical support. We are looking for experienced OOTPers/forum vets who would be willing to help address tickets in our new system. You would be compensated on a "per ticket closed" basis, and paid periodically via bank transfer. I'd like to stress that this is a nominal payment. I will talk about details privately with "candidates," but suffice it to say we're not in a position to be able to offer full-time employment. This is closer to an "volunteer incentive" than it is "significant income".

We're looking for people who meet these criteria:

• OOTP / forum veteran
• Strong knowledge of at least one operating system (Windows / Mac / Linux) (a plus if you own multiple machines!)
• Strong ability to troubleshoot technical problems, including OS and hardware considerations
• Availability to spend a few hours a day helping out, particularly from April-June
• Strong "customer service" skills; that is, the ability to treat customers well during the support process

In addition, support staff would become de facto beta team members and would receive a free copy of OOTP 11.
