AI not starting my pitching starter
I have brought this up, probably last time i was in this situation, but it was never resolved.
I am a few days from the end of the season. Easily in the playoffs. The AI refuses to play my pitches in the order i have them, for simming the game. If i manage the game, it will work fine, but if i sim it, the AI has all my relievers take a few innings and burn themselves out. Is there a way i can force this? Even if it is intended, it makes no sense. It is not like the AI is sitting my 5 star CF to reduce injury risk. The AI totally burns out all the MR for the few days before the playoffs start. It also did this last year(game year) when i was at the playoffs. Then i go into the playoffs with all my starters rested and no MR/closers. Any help? i don't recall this happening in older versions of the game. I sim each game, use a 5 man rotation, and have strict order enabled, the same way i play the whole year. thanks Last edited by rudoggy; 03-09-2010 at 09:14 AM. Reason: more info |

? what would this accomplish? Are they all going to throw one pitch and out?
Not really sure i understand what you are getting at. You want me to go set every pitchers count, to 1? I just want my starter to start, like every game before. If, as a manager, i can force the start by playing out the game, then the AI must be attempting something here. Can anyone explain why ver X does this? |

NP TY,
thanks for looking atleast. I really hope this gets resolved this time, last time it just kinda got ignored, or lost in the pile of threads. If this should be posted in tech support i can do that. I just thought i would ask here first in case other people had the same issues. |

I don't have any problem like you're describing. My problem is that I usually forget to remove starters from the final few games before the post-season in order to rest them.
I know this may be a stupid question, but are you using 7-day lineups for the batters? I think if you do that it has a slot for starting pitcher also. |

No i am not. I never really have used and never have a problem during the year with my pitching order being ignored.
I can try that and see if it at least gets around the problem. thanks |

As followup:
The 7 day lineup did work. Hopefully this issue clears up when i move onto the next version. I still really don't care for the fact that i have to do it, but a work around will have to do. Thanks! |
