How to upload a chart?

Does anyone know how to upload a chart from Microsoft word without it having all of the smiley faces attached to it?

I have charts in Word that don't have smiley faces on them. Why is there smiley faces in your chart?

That's because Word throws a bunch of formatting characters in there which are "invisible" to Word, but become visible in plain text - those characters tend to get parsed by bbcode as the above smilies.

If the contents are just text, copy and paste them into notepad, and copy them from Notepad into the post - boom, formatting characters are gone. Alternately, you could always attach the file to the post, as .doc files are apparently permissible.

If you make a chart in Word and then copy it and post it, it will have the smiling faces.

If you make a chart in Word and copy it to Notepad, the lines will not be there, just the text.

Well, yeah, that's why I prefaced my statement with "if it's just text."

Honestly, I think the best way to do it would be to just take a screenshot of the chart and post it as an image, or just attach the .doc to a post.

That is the way I normally do it, but it looks so much more clear if you post the chart and then edit out the faces; but that is a pain and sometimes it doesn't work.

Thanks for you input.
