Delete league AND players???

How do I delete a league AND delete/remove players that are currently on this leagues teams, instead of having the players dumped into the free agent pool.

ie, I have a game going with two major leagues. One has all minors associated with it, the other is a standalone league. I want to delete the standalone league but I do not want its players dumped into a free agent pool...

Thanks

This can't be done. The only way to get rid of the players is to delete the league then delete all free agents, unfortunately, this will delete the free agents in your other major league as well. There should be an easier way to delete players from one league but there isn't.

I believe if you delete your xxx.lg folder (xxx being the name of the league you don't want) that would work.

I thought the OP had both leagues in one .lg file.

That is correct Sandman. Both leagues are within the same .lg folder.

I have never tried this but couldn't you export each of the teams roster in the league you want to delete and remove the players from the csv file. Then just import it back with no names in the file. Then after you do each team just delete the league. This probably won't work or else someone would have came up with this idea years ago but it may be worth a try. Just backup your league file before attempting this procedure.

I once deleted a league and had the players dump into the free agent pool, totally screwed up my second league, so I have been there. I actually ended up trashing the whole league and started over.

Be sure to backup your files first.

if the league you want to keep is set to "not allow free agents from other leagues" or what ever, can't you go to the league you want to get rid off in the game setup pages, release all to FA, then delete all FAs (I am assuming they only show up on the FA pages for that league), then delete the league?

This is the best solution, except that you have to make this change during the preseason if it hasn't already been done. I did this exact same thing with one of my leagues and it worked perfectly.

Ok...where do I find the option 'do not allow free agents from other league' ?

Thanks

Actually I just got to the offseason and the option is still greyed out. Maybe available during preseason?

I'm realtively new to the game so bear with me please.

It appears I have a single global FA pool...I was considering switching all teams AI (for both leagues) to not allow roster changes while I deleted the one league, but since all FAs would get dumped into the same pool...I don't know how it would even be possible to sort out the "bad" FAs...

Can anyone confirm that the financial setting to allow FA from other leagues to sign can be changed once a league has been started??

Can't confirm, but you could always make a copy of your league and advance to preseason to test it. If not you will need a more creative work around.

Welcome to the world of OOTP.

How does one delete all the FAs? I cannot find a function button for that. I want to make a fictional MLB and used the Anderson startup, but I can't figure out how to delete all the FAs after I released everyone to the FA pool.

If you are the Commissioner you should see a button on the lower right of the Free Agents screen.

You CANNOT change the setting once the season has started, it can only be changed during the preseason.
