OOTP Install question

I am having issues for some reason with all my leagues crashing when I try to access my messages. Its not my league files, as my other copy of the game on my laptop runs fine.

My question is, if I install over the old game files will my license remain. Elicense for some reason is not working on my computer and I can't uninstall the license. With OOTP 11 just around the corner, I'd rather not have the head ache and mess with it. Otherwise Ill just use my laptop.

Thanks!

Do you still have the ootp10setup application file? If you do, you're in business and you don't have to uninstall/re-install the license. I had the same problem - I couldn't get access to the e-license folder, but you don't need it. You only need to uninstall the license if you are moving the game from one computer to another.

Just uninstall the game fully. To wit: do your regular uninstall and then use the "search" tool in your start menu to weed out any lingering OOTP files that the uninstall didn't get, while making sure you're not chucking files that you're going to need or want. If you've done any customizing of the game in any way make sure you copy your customized files elsewhere on your computer first so that they won't be taken out by the uninstall. Then re-install the game using your setup application, which hopefully you saved somewhere, patch up to 10.4.31 or 10.4.36, re-install your customized files (making sure to back up the originals somewhere on your computer) and (fingers crossed) you're good to go. I hope this helps!

Spacehog,

Just in case this doesn't fix your crashing problem, you can get help with this by opening a new ticket on the new tech support site.

Also, you might be interested to know that if you ever need to unlicense your game (even though elicense isn't working for you) to move it to a different computer, there's a knowledge base article on the tech support site that explains how to do this.

Here's a link to tech support:
