God Must Be A Bambino Fan
GOD-MODE. WHERE YOU SEE IT ALL.
April 11th, 1974. The cheers of a few days ago have been snuffed out by unbelief. Only days ago, Hank Aaron tied the greatest record in baseball with his 714th home run. For fans, the wait was interminable over the winter. Despite a furious late season power-pace, Aaron had come up one home run short of tying the Babe at the end of the 73 season. With the birds singing in the new season, it was time. Finally. And in game number 3, Hank delivered a booming homer off Houston's Larry Dierker as Braves fans shook the stadium, trying to catch breath between screams. Now, those screams may be all that's left of Hank Aaron's career. The Braves announced today that Aaron's injury is substantial and he will be rehabing for at least 10 months. In big black, the record book holds two names at the top of baseball's most cherished record column: ALL TIME HOME RUN LEADERS BABE RUTH 714 HANK AARON 714 OCT, 1974. Today, Hank Aaron announced his retirement, unable to make a return from serious injury suffered last April. Last edited by knockahoma; 03-25-2010 at 10:02 AM. |

Fascinating.
If someone else--say Barry Bonds for example--fails to progress beyond 714 in your universe, I would seriously consider the possibility that the AI has achieved sentience, and is toying with your sanity in ways that are unhealthy and ultimately counterproductive to your enjoyment of the game. This should be flagged for Markus and submitted to the bug forums, while we still have a chance. |

This sounds really ominous. You don't have some sort of twisted Friday the 13th mod installed, do you?
