Poor coding on Salary Demands

This may already be address in OOTP11 but is not it needs to be taken into consideration for OOTP12...

Players going into free agency should not ask for less money on the market than they do to extend with their current team. Especially when the player has a loyalty of 6 or better on a 10 point scale.

Not enough info. More than one attribute determines a demand. It is possible that he wants to play for his home town team so he would put out a lower demand in the hopes of attracting an offer. If the current team is not winning and he has a high winning team "need" then he could ask for more to compensate.

I'll admit though that that sounds pretty complex for this AI.

What are his other attributes?

Infractions: 1/1 (1)
Tell that to Jarrod Washburn, Joe Crede, etc.

While it's not perfect, the salary demands are notfar off from real life. Take Johnny Damon for example, he came in expecting a 4 year deal with something like 12 mil a year. That is to much for someone like him but look what happens to ppl like that, they don't sign for awhile.

Now in ootp I have had ppl demand 27 mil a year but no one, not even the computer signs them for that much. And if someone does sign them for that much then there team could be handicapped.

The trike to all this is to wait them out.

I thnink they are gonna fix this in 11

yeah this is a major problem.

We are all used to players turning down contracts only to sign for 20-35% of your offer a month later. I just had my 30 year old catcher turn down 4 years 10.2 per in sept and oct. so I signed a C for 2 years 3 mil as a filler until my AA C was ready. That catcher ended up signing a 2 year 8 million deal in mid Dec.

This happens a lot
