Auto-Play Stops with Error
AZL has an illegal number of players on active roster! (5)
This is the freakin error message I am getting when trying to sim a MLB season in OOTP 10. I have all managers set to Computer AI. After I got this message I went into league setup and chose fill teams with fictional players and run comp. AI on all teams. Still getting this damn error. I mean honestly, how about making these error messages a little more descriptive. Like saying what the team name is, and what league they belong to. How do I find out what team AZL is and why in the world do they only have 5 players? How do I get AZL up to a proper roster limit? Last edited by Chomps; 04-04-2010 at 11:26 PM. |

It is most likely a minor league team. Turn on the 'Allow incomplete minor league rosters' option under Game Setup > League Setup > Options and you should be all set.
If you refuse to use ghost players, then I can't help you. Hopefully someone else can.

I seem to have solved the problem.
I went to Manager - Options and checked Commissioner mode. Then I went to League Setup - Names and Affiliations and searched through all the Minor Leagues until I found AZL. Turns out that all teams in the Arizona League were named AZL. AZL Twins, AZL Dodgers, etc... The league abbreviation was ARL. Anyway, I renamed ARL to AZL for Arizona League, then I renamed all of the teams in this league to a city name. Tempe Twins, Mesa Dodgers, etc.... Then I went back to Auto-Play and clicked on Finish Today...I got the error again and it had the city name - Scottsdale. So I went back to the Arizona League, and chose the Scottsdale Team, which only had 5 players. Then I chose Fill Team with Fictional Players. I actually did this for each team in the AZL. So it solved the problem in a sense. I will have to check to see if I have Ghost players allowed or not. With all this being said, it is still important to make the Error Messages more descriptive. How about even providing a link in the message so that one can click on it, and be taken to that team?? |
